Seattle, Here We Come!

Seattle is one of those cities I’ve always wanted to visit. And since Midwest Airlines just announced the addition of Seattle to its destination cities, I’ll soon be on my way to check out Kerry Park panorama by Forrest Croceand report on the girlfriend getaway activities there. The schedule is already in the system for booking, so savvy girlfriends will get their plans underway now.

Because I’m excited about visiting Seattle, I’ve already begun trip research. Apparently, April is the end of the rainy season there, which doesn’t resume until October. I’ll take the inaugural flight out on April 1, Mt. St. Helens, south of Seattle.along with one of my girlfriends, to explore Seattle. We’ll give you our report on where we stayed, how much it cost, what places we loved and recommendations for dining. Of course, we’ll check out the shopping, the weather and maybe the nearby vineyards and wineries! (I’m working on winery tour information right now!)

For now, you can take a quick overview of Seattle as a destination by checking Midwest’s Seattle Airport page. Seattle will be nonstop from Kansas City, but as you may know, Midwest offers plenty of easy connections from Milwaukee and from Eastern cities like New York, Newark, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Of course, if you’re in Florida or San Antonio, you can make a quick connection in KC as well. Seattle is very accessible from most of the cities that Midwest serves.

NEXT: More Manhattan — Upper and Lower and Mid-Between

TIP: Visit these Seattle visitors sites to find out more about the city — and request the visitors guide. Looking for a wine tasting spectacular? Visit Taste Washington for info about an April 14/15 wine event in Seattle.

Don’t believe what you read about the rain. It doesn’t start in October and end in April. It starts in April and ends the following April! Seriously, Seattlites know that the good weather doesn’t start until after the fourth of July.

Got questions about where to go, what to do? Just ask.

Avoid the rain…head north of Seattle to to Whidby lsand. There are nice little towns with cool little shops, lots of trees, beautitufl beaches…and you can got so some of the San Juan Island for even more of the same…without the rain.

We did our honeymoon there more than 12 years ago and have wanted to go back ever since.

Mark — Thanks for the recommendation about Whidby Island. I will look into this. Gosh, there seems like so much to see in and around Seattle. Am very anxious to explore the area!
